Top Elite Athletes – Extended Qualification Period

Here you can find the details of the extended qualification period for top elite athletes.

Starting from September 2025, a new qualification period extension may apply to Top Elite athletes, granting an extended qualification period for the UTMB World Series Finals 2026.

Athletes meeting the eligibility criteria outlined below will still need to:

qualify via a Podium
or the UTMB Score qualification

in accordance with our qualification rules outlined HERE.

However, for Top Elite athletes, the qualification period will run from January 2025 to June 2026, providing them with 18 months to qualify for the UTMB World Series Finals 2026.

Once an athlete enters the Top Elite list as of September 15, 2025, their status will remain valid until December 31, 2026.

Eligibility is based on one of the following conditions, and for whichever is most favorable for the athlete.

2) Top 5 at the UTMB World Series Finals

This extended benefit and its related conditions also apply to athletes finishing in the Top 5 at UTMB, CCC, and OCC.

BENEFITS

Top Elite athletes will benefit from an 18-month qualification window.

For the UTMB World Series Finals 2026, the qualification period will run from January 2025 to June 2026.

CONDITIONS:

Eligible athletes must contact the Elite Team (elites@utmb.world) no later than December 31, 2025, to request this benefit.
Athletes must be registered to a qualifying race before December 31, 2025. The race must take place before June 30, 2026.
Athletes must communicate their race program for the following year, specifying both their final race and their chosen qualifying race.

COMMITMENTS:

Participation in official side events during race weekends (such as elite athletes presentations, press conferences, and award ceremonies) is required
Athletes must notify the organizers if they decide not to participate in a race for which they are registered.
