Held annually at the renowned UTMB Mont-Blanc, the UTMB World Series Finals are the pinnacle of trail running. The slots allocated to elite runners on the UTMB World Series Finals are strictly reserved for those who qualify by participating in a UTMB® World Series Event or UTMB World Series Major in the 15 months preceding the UTMB World Series Finals.

Special rules
Change of category*
The top 10 men and women (UTMB World Series Majors) and top 3 men and women (UTMB World Series Events) win direct entry into the corresponding Final. Runners may request to change category, this will be assessed based on the runner’s performance and availability in the other race, changes are not guaranteed. Requests must be recieved before June 15th to the Race Direction.
Races taking place less than 3 months before the UTMB Mont-Blanc
The qualification period is open over 15 months to allow elite runners to better manage their calendar and their recovery periods. Therefore, for races taking place 3 months before the UTMB World Series Finals, any qualified elite runner can choose whether to participate in the UTMB World Series Finals the same year or only the following year. We could consider giving a wild card for a shorter race for the same year for those runners who decide to use their entry slot for the Final in which they have a slot in the following year.
UTMB World Series Finals Second Chance Selection
On each race category(50K, 100K, 100M), there will be 100 athletes (50 men, 50 women) who benefit from a second-chance qualification for the UTMB World Series Finals in 2023 based on their race score achieved in the UTMB World Series Events or UTMB World Series Majors qualifying races.

The Age groups are based on those of World Athletics. All possible age-groups are presented here, including those we need for youth races. All age-group athletes must participate and compete in the age-group division corresponding to the athlete’s age as of December 31 of the year of the Event.
