Four UTMB World Series Majors are held each year and are considered the pinnacle events across the Americas, Europe, Asia-Pacific and the Oceania regions.
Collect double the amount of Running Stones compared to other UTMB World Series Events for the UTMB World Series Finals lottery.
In total 210 runners are also granted automatic qualification for the UTMB World Series Finals through each Major. This includes age-group category winners and the top 10 male and female runners in the 100M, 100K and 50K categories.

EUROPEAN MAJOR
HOKA VAL D'ARAN BY UTMB
Set in Vielha, Spain, HOKA Val d'Aran by UTMB is already preparing its fourth edition. It will be made up of seven mountain races in the picturesque Pyrenees moutnains, which will place Val d'Aran as the epicentre of trail running in Europe. The Val d'Aran, known as "The Essence of the Pyrenees", is an Atlantic-facing valley in the central Pyrenees, where the Garonne River rises. It covers an area of 620 km and 30% of its territory is above 2,000 m in altitude, with peaks reaching 3,000 m, characteristics that make it a favourite place for nature lovers. Bordering France, it has a unique climate, perpetual snow, exquisite gastronomy, an own language and a strong cultural heritage.
AMERICAS MAJOR
HOKA KODIAK ULTRA MARATHONS BY UTMB
HOKA Kodiak Ultra Marathons by UTMB is the american majors in 2025 and is a dual qualifier for the iconic UTMB World Series Finals taking place in Chamonix, France and the Western States 100. It offers runners the hospitality of a rustic, mountain town that sits just a couple hours from Los Angeles, California.
With 2 days of racing and 5 distances, each course presents a unique running experience. Runners will enjoy views of Big Bear Lake throughout their journey – whether you’re climbing to the top of Sugarloaf Mountain or descending into Siberia Canyon, the courses will ‘wow’ you at every turn.
ASIA-PACIFIC MAJOR
HOKA CHIANG MAI THAILAND BY UTMB
Chiang Mai, Thailand is the backdrop for the Asia-Pacific. The HOKA Chiang Mai Thailand by UTMB’s route course based around Thailand’s highest mountain, Doi Inthanon. The Event showcases the local biodiversity immersing runners in local culture, allowing them to experience the peaceful ways of life of the Hmong, Pga-Gan-Yaw and Karenic tribes as well as awe-inspiring views of the terraced rice paddy fields and cool temperatures in beautiful, tropical, humid forests.
The start and finish line are at Doi Inthanon National Park Headquarters, Chom Thong District, Chiang Mai Province. Doi Inthanon is one of the most popular national parks in Thailand, famous for its waterfalls, trails, remote villages, exceptional sunsets and sunrise, birdwatching and all-year-round cold weather on higher elevations.
OCEANIA MAJOR
HOKA ULTRA-TRAIL AUSTRALIA BY UTMB
HOKA Ultra-Trail Australia by UTMB is set in the stunning Blue Mountains of New South Wales, Australia, a UNESCO World Heritage Site known for its rugged cliffs, lush forests, and dramatic views. This iconic event offers runners an unforgettable journey through ancient landscapes steeped in natural beauty and cultural heritage.
As the Oceania Major,it allows participants to earn double the Running Stones, bringing them closer to qualifying for the UTMB World Series finals. A challenge like no other awaits in the heart of Australia!

This will support all athletes who juggle demanding training regimes, along with professional careers. The HOKA Prize Purse will help facilitate athlete’s journeys towards earning a sustainable livelihood and aims to elevate the rewards and recognition available to all competitors.
The increase in prize money allocation reflects global UTMB Group's unwavering commitment to gender equality and parity across distances:
Gender Parity: UTMB World Series continues to be committed to ensuring gender parity, which is reflected in the distribution of prize money. Both male and female athletes will receive equal amounts on both Finals and Majors.
Equal Recognition: UTMB®, the iconic original 171km race with 10,000m of elevation gain, now serving as the Final for the 100M category, offers a higher prize money compared to other finals, with male and female winners each receiving 20,000 euros. UTMB World Series recognizes the outstanding performances of every athlete, regardless of the distance they cover. Crossing the finish line of a 50K, a 100K, or a 100M showcases athletes with different skill sets, yet united by the same remarkable perseverance. UTMB World Series aims to commend every athlete on an equal footing, acknowledging that even shorter distances require the same level of dedication and challenge.
