A Unique Alpine Experience
The Eiger Ultra Trail by UTMB® also stands out for the unique experience it offers to both runners and their companions. Thanks to the region’s extensive network of mountain railways, gondolas and alpine infrastructure, spectators can easily access several key points along the course to cheer on runners throughout the race. At the finish line, finishers receive not a traditional medal, but a stone from the Eiger North Face, carefully prepared by a local artisan, symbolising the unique connection between the event and the mountain.
The 2026 edition will also be marked by a charitable initiative, with two participants taking on the challenge to raise funds for the KNCV Tuberculosis Foundation, once again demonstrating that trail running can be a powerful force for engagement and impact beyond sporting performance.

Along the way, participants also pass through several traditional Walser villages, whose unique cultural heritage plays a central role in shaping the event’s distinctive identity.
An Event Committed to Inclusion and Future Generations
Monterosa WalserWaeg by UTMB® showcases several initiatives that reflect its core values of inclusion, solidarity and passing on its passion for trail running. Among them, the Becca Pink holds a special place. This 4 km charity walk and run, reserved for women, takes participants through the historic centre of Aosta in support of the V.I.O.L.A. Association, which is dedicated to the fight against breast cancer. In this event, participation and togetherness take precedence over competition.
The event also places a strong emphasis on younger generations through the Junior Walser Trail, a 9 km competitive race for runners aged 14–17. The Flavours of Bucovina programme will bring runners and their companions together for a traditional mountain meal, while culinary demonstrations, concerts, folk dancing and cultural activities will celebrate local traditions throughout the weekend.
The event also develops several community initiatives. Through Her Trail, Her Horizon, the organisation encourages greater female participation in trail running through awareness initiatives, educational content and inspiring stories. Meanwhile, the Bucovina Ultra Rocks Library, created in partnership with the George Bodea Municipal Library, aims to build a dedicated collection of books on trail running, adventure and personal development through book donations from participants.
Finally, the RunSummit Talks will bring together athletes, coaches and trail enthusiasts through a series of talks, panel discussions and exchanges exploring performance, adventure and trail running culture.
Speedgoat Mountain Races by UTMB®: The Spirit of the Wasatch Mountains
From 23–25 July, Speedgoat Mountain Races by UTMB® will celebrate its fifth edition in the heart of Utah’s Wasatch Mountains. Held in Snowbird, the event has quickly established itself as one of North America’s most technical trail running races, renowned for its steep terrain, demanding climbs and spectacular alpine scenery.
The event features three race formats: 50 km (50K), 31 km (50K) and 10 km. Staying true to the vision of race founder Karl Meltzer, known as the "Speedgoat," the courses take runners across technical singletrack, exposed ridgelines and relentless climbs with breathtaking views over the Wasatch Mountains. The 50K remains the event’s flagship race and one of the most demanding trail races on the North American calendar.
Promoting a More Inclusive Trail Running Community
To mark its fifth edition, Speedgoat Mountain Races by UTMB® is launching The Start Line Project, an initiative developed in partnership with Women of the Wasatch, a local organisation committed to making trail running more inclusive. The programme aims to sustainably increase female participation in the Speedgoat 50K by addressing some of the sport’s main barriers: access, support, representation and sense of belonging.
The initiative includes five race-entry scholarships awarded to female runners, a series of webinars, a dedicated Discord community, guided training runs ahead of the event and on-site childcare during race weekend through a partnership with Snowbird Resort. Women of the Wasatch will also have a presence in the event village to support participants and strengthen connections within the trail running community.
