Restonica Trail by UTMB®: Corsica’s wild majesty, a challenge steeped in commitment

From 3 to 5 July, the 17th edition of Restonica Trail by UTMB® – the 4th as part of the UTMB World Series – will welcome 3,500 runners to the rugged trails of Corsica, known as the Île de Beauté. 82% of participants come from the island or mainland France, eager to test themselves on the four challenging courses (100M, 100K, 50K, 20K).

Female participation stands at 25%, up from 23%, thanks to measures such as separate facilities at the village and refreshment points, the availability of hygiene products, and dedicated contacts.

Several elite athletes will be at the start this year. On the 50K: Andreu Blanes-Reig (ESP, UTMB Index 899), Tiago Vieira (POR, UTMB Index 866), Camilla Magliano (ITA, UTMB Index 765), and Malen Osa Ansa (ESP, UTMB Index 757). It will also organise races for children from 3 to 14, proudly representing the colours of local athletics club AC Corte. The courses have been designed in close collaboration with the Corsican Regional Natural Park and the Corsican Environment Office to protect sensitive areas and preserve biodiversity. Trail Verbier St-Bernard by UTMB®: a 16th edition balancing performance and inclusion

Trail Verbier Saint-Bernard by UTMB® is set to stage its 16th edition, marking its fourth year within the UTMB World Series, from 11 to 13 July in the heart of the Swiss Alps. With nearly 5,300 participants expected across five distances (100M, 100K, 50K, 20K and Discovery Trail), the event is sold out. With 31% of participants Swiss residents, the race demonstrates strong local engagement while retaining its international appeal.

The elite field promises exceptional competition across both the 100K and 50K distances. The X-Traversee (100K) features athletes including Lena Laukner (GER, UTMB Index 739) and Aurélien Dunand Pallaz (FRA, UTMB Index 882), while the Verbier Marathon (50K) – broadcast live on UTMB Live – will see Candice Fertin (FRA, UTMB Index 743), Laura Emmi (ITA, UTMB Index 691), Mattia Bertoncini (ITA, UTMB Index 875) and Anders Haga (NOR, UTMB Index 851) competing.

Among the standout participants is Amy Winters, an American athlete with a left leg amputation who was part of the Adaptive Team at the HOKA UTMB® Mont-Blanc in 2024. She will tackle the 100K distance.

Beyond the racing, several initiatives showcase Trail Verbier St Bernard by UTMB's broader commitments. A team of local high mountain guides will take part in a parent/child relay over the 20km distance – an innovative initiative celebrating intergenerational connections.

The event marks the racing debut for four women supported by Reaching Summits, an organisation promoting female participation in trail running. This UTMB World Series-backed project aims to prepare these athletes to be selected for the HOKA UTMB Mont-Blanc 2026. The group will also run the Wildstrubel by UTMB in September. Speedgoat Mountain Races by UTMB®: Power and endurance on Utah's summits
