Grand Raid Ventoux by UTMB joins UTMB World Series, showcasing the iconic Mont Ventoux in France
UTMB® World Series heads to the heart of the Provence region in France in 2025, welcoming Grand Raid Ventoux by UTMB® to the circuit on April 25-27. With a race history spanning almost 30 years, the event's partnership with the trail running circuit proves an exciting fit in its evolution, while showcasing the stunning Provencal landscapes, including vineyards, hilltop villages and the infamous ‘Giant of Provence’ - Mont Ventoux.
“Joining UTMB World Series was an obvious choice for us. We wanted not only to structure and grow our event but also to offer our trail-running community the opportunity to experience something unique in their region, while highlighting Mont Ventoux, an iconic territory we love so much,” said Pieryves Coudray, organiser of the event for nearly 10 years alongside Laurent Belmonte.
Starting from the small town of Malaucène, at the foot of Mont Ventoux, an incredible atmosphere is expected as runners take on one of four race formats on offer.
The 100M race distance promises to be a popular challenge, as the only race in the region offering this distance. Runners will embark on an adventure through wild landscapes, exploring the magnificent panoramas of the north face of the Giant of Provence.
More picturesque hills and spectacular views await in the 100K, 50K and 20K distances. From fascinating historical sites such as the Piaud chapel and Barroux aqueduct to stunning views atop the Arfuyen ridge and immersion in the wild nature of the Mont Ventoux natural regional park.
As the sixth French event in UTMB World Series, Grand Raid Ventoux by UTMB offers the rapidly growing trail running community in France an opportunity to immerse themselves in the UTMB experience on home soil.
In a region with a celebrated sporting heritage, known for hosting prestigious national and international events such as the Tour de France, Olympic Week, Rugby World Cup, and Tennis Open, this partnership enhances the local commitment to advancing sports development while contributing to the local economy.
