Regular runners – Lottery Entry

Runners who want to secure their place on the start line of the UTMB® World Series Finals 2024 – the UTMB®, CCC® and OCC – will need to enter the lottery. To enter the lottery, they need two things: Running Stones and a UTMB Index.

Running Stones

Running Stones can only be collected by finishing races in 20K, 50K, 100K and 100M category races at a UTMB World Series Event or Major. One Running Stone is equal to one entry into the lottery. Only 1 Running Stone acquired in the past two years is mandatory to enter the lottery.
Running Stones are cumulative, have no expiration date, and each Running Stone gives you an additional chance to be drawn. The UTMB World Series Majors offer double the amount of Running Stones to all finishers. Runners can find their Running Stones on the MyUTMB account, which can we accessed through the website.

UTMB Index

The UTMB Index is calculated for each of the 4 UTMB World Series race categories: 20K, 50K, 100k and 100M.
A valid UTMB Index is achieved by completing at least one race of the UTMB World Series or a UTMB Index race in the relevant category within the previous 24 months. To enter the Dacia UTMB Mont-Blanc lottery for the race of their choice, runners must have a valid UTMB Index as per the chart.
Runners can find their UTMB Index on their MyUTMB account, which can be accessed through the website.

Regular runners –Non-Lottery races

Runners who want to take on the challenge of the TDS® (145km/9,176m+), MCC (40km/2,300m+), ETC (15km/1,200m+) or for young trailers the YCC (14km/1,100m+), can register from the 14 December. Elite and Top Ranked Runners – Direct Qualification

The direct entry qualification criteria has evolved to allow runners to better plan their running calendar year and to know at least 8 months in advance if they have qualified for the UTMB World Series Finals. The most important evolutions are the qualification period and criteria.

Qualification period

The qualification period for the UTMB World Series Finals runs for the full calendar year prior to each Final.

For 2024, this means runners have from the 1 January – 31 December 2023 to qualify.

Direct qualification through UTMB World Series Events & Majors

The top 3 male and female runners at every UTMB World Series Event in races in the 100M, 100K and 50K category races automatically qualify for the following year’s edition of the UTMB World Series Finals in the corresponding category. For UTMB World Series Majors, the top 10 in each category will have direct qualification.

Qualification with the UTMB Score

In addition to the top 3 male and female qualifiers for Events and top 10 for Majors, all runners who obtain a UTMB Score higher or equal to the one mentioned in this table, on a UTMB World Series race in the 50K, 100K or 100M categories, will qualify for the Final of the same category.
