20th edition of the Dacia UTMB Mont-Blanc to deliver the most extensive coverage ever to fans around the world

With the eagerly awaited 20th anniversary edition of the Dacia UTMB® Mont-Blanc less than one week away, details of the most comprehensive coverage ever of the event has been confirmed. Trail running fans around the world will be able to follow the greatest gathering of elites the UTMB has ever seen as well as thousands of passionate runners as they take on the challenge of a lifetime, live online, on TV, on social media, across leading international media as well as on site from the 28 August-3 September.

Live digital hub to bring all the races to life at live.utmb.world  

The UTMB LIVE platform is the first ever all-in-one digital engagement solution in the trail running industry, bringing fans the best live content from the Dacia UTMB Mont-Blanc throughout the week. 

The highlight will no doubt be the first ever UTMB® World Series Finals, 31 August – 3 September, which will be broadcast live, allowing fans to watch for free as their favorite runners take on the UTMB®, CCC® and OCC, with race coverage in English, French, Spain, Catalan, Italian, Chinese and Thai. Led by an expert commentary team, including the larger-than-life Scott Jurek, Marianne Hogan and Martin Gaffuri, alongside Corinne Malcolm and Keith Byrne. A total of 74 hours of live coverage for fans and families to get insights and anecdotes to each race, and be part of the biggest trail running event of the year!

  • Friday 1 September, start at 8.30am: coverage of the CCC and UTMB*

 

*UTMB night will be fully covered for the first time ever with a special feature at the aid station – Courmayeur Forum Sport Center: TV studio, Marianne Hogan and Martin Gaffuri as speakers, interviews inside, etc.

  • Saturday 2 September, restart at 5.30pm – coverage of the UTMB, including interviews with the winners, the UTMB prize-giving ceremony and the closing ceremony.

Reaching new fans with UTMB World Series official broadcasters

Thanks to new groundbreaking broadcast partnerships, trail running fans in China, the USA, Canada, Spain and France will now be able to watch the UTMB World Series Finals live broadcast on dedicated local platforms, increasing awareness and visibility of trail running.

In the USA and Canada, Outside Watch will distribute live content cross its web and mobile app platforms. Fans in China can watch on the leading Chinese video platform, iQIYI Sports. In Spain, TV3 will broadcast the UTMB race on Friday and Saturday in Catalan. And in France, the event will build on a long-term partnership with L’Equipe with live coverage of the 3 Finals.

Throughout the summer, the Radio France Group and France Bleu Pays de Savoie got together to go behind the scenes of the Dacia UTMB Mont-Blanc preparations, discovering the stories that make this event the world summit of trail running. France Bleu Pays de Savoie will also broadcast the start and first finishers of the UTMB live from Chamonix on Friday September 1 and Saturday September 2.

How to follow in the Chamonix Valley

This year to reduce traffic and make the experience unforgettable, we’re setting up fan zones along the race course to allow people to get involved locally, without clogging the valley. Join us in Courmayeur on Monday August 28 for the start of the TDS, and in Les Houches and Les Contamines on Friday, September 1st for the start of the UTMB. Concerts, giant screens and entertainment for young and old will allow everyone to enjoy this extraordinary festival of trail running throughout the territory.
