UTMB World Series and Laboratoire SVR partner to promote skin health and protection in trail running

UTMB® World Series and Laboratoire SVR, an innovative dermatological brand specialising in sensitive skin care, today announce a three-year partnership. This strategic collaboration marks an important step for both organisations: Laboratoire SVR strengthens its commitment to sports sponsorship and confirms its ambition to become the dermatological reference for athletes, while UTMB World Series continues to enhance the support provided to runners across its global circuit.

Prevention and runner wellbeing: a shared priority

Trail running takes place in natural environments that are often demanding, where athletes are continually exposed to the elements. Sun, wind, rain and friction place constant strain on the skin — an essential yet sometimes overlooked aspect of overall wellbeing. UTMB World Series and Laboratoire SVR share a common ambition: to raise awareness within the trail running community of the importance of protecting skin health and encouraging simple, effective protection habits. Laboratoire SVR offers dermatological solutions especially suited for ultra-trail running, such as SUN SECURE Gel Extreme SPF50+, a sunscreen that withstands harsh weather and sweat, and is non-irritating to the eyes.

An enhanced runner experience and community-focused initiatives

As part of their agreement, the two partners plan to integrate SVR products into the runner experience at selected UTMB World Series events in Europe, through two complementary initiatives:

  • Personalised aid stations will be offered at Chianti Ultra Trail by UTMB® (20-22 March), Oh Meu Deus by UTMB® (1-3 May), Trail du Saint-Jacques by UTMB® (12-14 June) and Nice Côte d’Azur by UTMB® (24-27 September).

  • The brand will also have a dedicated stand within the Ultra-Trail Villages, featuring engaging and educational activities designed to raise awareness about sun protection, along with practical advice on how to protect the skin before, during and after exertion. These stands will be present at the following events (non-exhaustive list): Grand Raid Ventoux by UTMB® (24-26 April), Trail Alsace by UTMB® (14-17 May), La Sportiva Lavaredo Ultra Trail by UTMB® (24-28 June), HOKA Val d’Aran by UTMB® (1-5 July, Major), Monte Rosa Walserwaeg by UTMB® (17-19 July) and HOKA UTMB® Mont-Blanc (24-30 August).

At the same time, UTMB World Series and Laboratoire SVR will extend this prevention initiative through their own digital channels and social media platforms, sharing awareness messages to reach a wider audience.

A shared environmental commitment

Committed to promoting partners who are genuinely engaged in environmental responsibility, UTMB World Series naturally chose Laboratoire SVR. The brand prioritises responsibly sourced ingredients, develops eco-designed packaging and offers refillable formats to reduce waste. It works to reduce its environmental footprint through its endowment fund, KRESK 4 OCEANS, actively supporting initiatives aimed at combating marine pollution. The brand is also rolling out bulk dispensing solutions in pharmacies to sustainably reduce plastic consumption across its product lines.

“Laboratoire SVR is a natural partner for the trail running community, and we are delighted to welcome them to the UTMB® World Series circuit,” said Céline Prevost, Commercial Director, UTMB Group. “Working with a committed dermatological brand that supports and informs athletes, while preserving the environment, strengthens the support we offer our runners and adds meaningful value to our events and our international trail running community.”

“This partnership began with a conversation with dermatologist Dr Stéphanie Leclerc Mercier, who highlighted the lack of sun protection among trail runners,” said Charlotte de Pitray, General Manager of Laboratoire SVR. “We decided to take up the challenge: to educate runners about the effects of sun exposure and to provide products specifically adapted to their sport – products that perform so well you forget you are wearing them during the race. After the unanimous positive feedback on our Sun Secure Extrême invisible gel at the HOKA UTMB® Mont-Blanc in August 2025, formalising our commitment to the trail community for the next three years was a natural step. Our mission is simple: to ensure every trail runner feels good in their skin.”
