The winners of the Extraordinary Contest have been drawn and winners will receive one of 20 Race bibs for UTMB World Series Events or one of 5 pairs of the latest HOKA Speedgoat 5!

Question 2 : What are the official race categories of the circuit ?

  • 20K, 50K, 100K, 100M

  • 20K, 40K, 60K, 80K, 100K

Answer : A

The 20K, 50K, 100K and 100M categories are the main UTMB® World Series distances ranked according to the kilometer-effort, a formula for measuring the race distance in trail running by considering both the distance and elevation gain. 100M stands for 100 miles and represents races over 170km effort.

For example, a race of 78km and 4000m of elevation gain race has 118km-effort, and therefore falls into the 100K category.

Question 3 : What are the UTMB® World Series Finals ?

  • The 50K, 100K and 100M distances

  • The OCC, CCC®, UTMB® races of the UTMB® Mont-Blanc

💡 The UTMB® World Series Finals bring together the three key distances of the UTMB® Mont-Blanc, i.e., the OCC (50K), the CCC® (100K) and the UTMB® (100M). Qualification can be achieved only by participating in one of the UTMB® World Series Events or UTMB® World Series Majors.

Question 10 : How can I collect Running Stones ?

💡 Running Stones will be awarded to all finishers of a 20K, 50K, 100K and 100M UTMB® World Series Event or UTMB® World Series Major. UTMB® World Series Qualifiers do not award Running Stones. Running Stones accumulate over time and each Running Stone gives an additional chance to be selected via the lottery.

For example, if you have 9 Running Stones, your name appears 9 times in the lottery, thus tripling your odds in the lottery vs someone who only has 3 Running Stones.

Question 11 : Do Running Stones expire ?

  • A : No, they don’t, but your stock is frozen after 2 years without racing in the UTMB® World Series

  • B : Yes, they are only valid for one season

  • C : No, they will never expire, even if you don't race for the next 50 years

💡 The UTMB® Index created by Didier Curdy is at the heart of the new UTMB® World Series sports system, and over the years, it has demonstrated its relevance and its quality. It provides the performance level of each runner participating in the UTMB® World Series races.

Question 13 : What do I need to register for the UTMB® World Series Finals?

  • A : At least one Running Stone acquired in the previous two years AND a valid UTMB® Index in the category corresponding to the Final
